Music video review - Soft Work (Falz)

Hi guys!!!!, Happy holidays! Hope you had some chicken or fun this break?. This is like the longest holiday ever!!!

So today we’re doing an amateur review on Falz new video that was released yesterday, “Soft work”. Soft work is from the album stories that touch. I think Falz has done incredibly well for himself and I’ve grown to like videos from Mex films, I think him putting his name at the beginning of the video made me bias already, I just knew I couldn’t hate the video (lol).

I like how Mex films combines creativity and simplicity. Orente, ello bae, jamb question and my favorite, pray for me by Darey were all not shot in some fancy country or with the latest ‘everything’ but they were all beautifully shot. I won’t dwell on Mex much here anyway so about soft work.

The video starts with him riding a 1972 Benz and you get the vintage 70s vibe bla bla. It’s beautifully shot but I just don’t have the words

“We calling shorts but dem no dey get service” - I like how he reminds us that he is a brand ambassador of MTN in this scene of him sitting on a yellow couch.

Then he and his crew move on to crash an owambe and hijack the stage. I like that he takes away the mic from “Mama Tobi”. Best thing anyone can do to save a party, you don’t want Mama Tobi holding your the mic at your party (I don’t find that guy/woman funny at all).

Series of endless parties go on, on the road, in a basement, not well plastered walls. Also there’s liquor, women, low lights… probably to tell a story of where all artists start from and you can have fun no matter where or what you have. The video gets 8/10 from me.

And oh, can Mex not put his name twice in a video?!. The video can be seen here:
